The Good Student Co. began with a simple, stubborn belief — that a person is far more than a test score. This is the story of how it came to be, and the values that hold it together.

The Good Student Company is born out of inspiration and mindset that has been passed down to us from our grandparents and parents about never stop being a learner. As a student, and even now, I often think to myself: kash mujhe ye pehle pata hota? (Hindi — “I wish I had known this earlier.”) And I have realized a lot of us ask this question to ourselves. Well, on deep diving into this, I realized there is a significant difference between learning and understanding of who, what, when, where and how we want to become what we wish to become. And the answer lies in the uniqueness of us. Our stories! You know just how biometrics work? No two individuals can share the same iris, DNA, facial features or fingerprint. In the same way, stories are unique to individuals. And here we are, trying to capture that uniqueness through learning and wellness. We are mere facilitators, helping you understand yourselves, your purpose, your journey, your story, so that in future you don’t have to say: kash mujhe ye pehle pata hota.

Riddhi, trained in science but an educationist at heart, founded The Good Student Company after recognizing a gap she saw in education systems and career journeys alike. She observed that while educational institutions are often seen as a pathway to success and economic mobility, they frequently overlook something essential—self-awareness. Too many students pursue careers shaped by expectations rather than their own interests, values, and identities, only to later realize they feel disconnected from the lives they have built. Through TGSC, Riddhi works to bridge this gap by helping students and organizations align education, wellbeing, and purpose, empowering individuals to make more authentic and fulfilling life and career choices.

Having spent over 5 years in the United States, Riddhi studied Biotechnology & Biochemistry at Rutgers University, USA and gained experience across multiple organisations before transitioning into public health and education. A Public Health Expert, beVisioneers Mercedes-Benz Fellow, and dedicated career coach, she now combines her global perspective with mentorship, wellness, and career guidance to support students and young professionals worldwide.

The Good Student Company's mission is to empower students and young professionals with the self-awareness, guidance, and real-world support needed to make authentic and fulfilling career choices. Through mentorship, wellness-focused learning, and global education guidance, TGSC helps individuals align their interests, values, and ambitions with meaningful careers and lives of purpose.

    Childhood & Family Influences

    Learning spilled beyond classrooms in our home, where no two relatives followed the same path. Our parents—especially our mother—noticed strengths school could not name, teaching us curiosity over conformity.

    A Test That Changed Everything

    Bhakti once took a psychometric assessment that called her “unfit” for science. Our mother refused the label, knowing one report could never hold a whole person.

    Still, we trusted the system. Bhakti chose commerce and humanities, and we kept asking:

    • Can one test define a future?
    • How many students are boxed in too early?
    • What potential is overlooked when it does not fit?

    Riddhi Moves to the United States

    In the United States, Riddhi found an education system that welcomed exploration before specialization. It showed her that identity need not be decided too soon.

    Undergraduate Years

    Across disciplines, people, and unfamiliar challenges, university became more than academics. It gave Riddhi the adaptability and resilience to meet an unpredictable world.

    As an International Student Ambassador, she had the opportunity to work closely with the Admissions Committee, observing how diverse perspectives, experiences, and potential are evaluated in the student selection process.

    Columbia Admission & The COVID Setback

    Riddhi’s admission to Columbia opened a path into public health. When COVID closed it, she learned that changed plans need not end the journey.

    The Idea Takes Shape

    Years after that assessment, Bhakti graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude. Her journey made the lesson unmistakable: one test cannot define a person’s potential.
